Los Angeles Children’s Chorus celebrates the season with its annual Winter Concerts, this year titled Hope for Resolution. Over two performances in one weekend, nearly 300 choristers will take the stage at Pasadena Presbyterian Church to celebrate hope and joy through music and song.

On Friday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m., Apprentice Choir, Concert Choir (singing selections from their full repertoire), Chamber Singers, and Chorale will perform. And on Sunday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m., Intermediate Choir, Concert Choir (singing their full repertoire), and Young Men’s Ensemble will perform.

“LACC’s 2022 Winter Concerts, Hope for Resolution, take their title from a combined song at the end of the program,” says Artistic Director Fernando Malvar-Ruiz. “This piece, written in reaction to the Apartheid, combines a Zulu melody and an Anglican chant, showing that music can be a way to bring together different—even confrontational—cultures. We are living through times of extreme polarization in our country, and in our world. We hope that singing our winter programs, through their amazing joy and diversity, help celebrate our differences as a way to unite us.”

Artistic Director Fernando Malvar-Ruiz conducts LACC’s Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and SATB choir, Chorale; Eric Lifland leads the Apprentice Choir; and Dr. Steven Kronauer conducts the Young Men’s Ensemble. The choirs perform separately and combined.

Concert tickets range from $29 to $51 for adults, and $14.50 to $25.50 for children under 18.

Please note: Every attendee will be required to wear a mask at all times while inside the venue, however, proof of vaccination is no longer required for entry to the concert.

LACC’s Winter Concerts are made possible in part by the Pasadena Arts & Culture Commission and the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division.
