AUGUST ACCENTS – 2022

September 1, 2022

WELCOME TO LACC’S 2022|2023 SEASON
Los Angeles Children’s Chorus is excited to share details of our 2022|2023 Season and we look forward to the beautiful season of song ahead! We hope the coming year will be a year unlike any other, with a variety of amazing performances and our much-anticipated international tour in the summer of 2023. On October 14, LACC will return to St. Andrew Church for our annual Bach to Broadway concert performance. We are thrilled to join our partner, LA Opera, for their production of Tosca in November, and will partner with the LA Phil for the Nutcracker, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, in December. Also in December, we return for Pasadena Symphony & POPS’ annual Holiday Candlelight concert and will present our two highly-anticipated LACC Winter Concerts.Looking forward to 2023, LACC will again join our friends at the LA Phil for Mahler’s Symphony No. 3. And in May, we will return to Walt Disney Concert Hall for the LA Phil’s Sounds About Town series, present our annual Spring Concert at Pasadena Presbyterian Church, and join LA Opera for Otello. And in September, LACC will launch its refreshed website! With an updated look and feel, the website will be easier to navigate and offer more engaging content than before.

IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO SIGN UP FOR FES
While all three of our in-person First Experiences in Singing (FES) classes are full, LACC still has limited registration space available for our Zoom FES class. In FES, students will enjoy many opportunities to sing solos, play musical games, and use physical manipulatives to practice musical sight-reading and writing skills.

No audition is required for FES I. However, completion of Level I is a prerequisite for enrollment in Level II (which we will offer in the Spring). The program serves 6 and 7 year-olds, and children who turned 8 after September 1, 2022.

Learn more about First Experiences in Singing and enroll your child via the LACC website at www.lachildrenschorus.org/fes.

KEEPING UP WITH LACC’S RECENT GRADUATES
Did you know that many of LACC’S choristers started as young 6- or 7-year-old children in our First Experiences in Singing Program? Some of our singers have been with LACC for a decade or more, and while it’s always hard to say goodbye, we are thrilled for our graduating seniors as they begin the next chapters of their lives. We caught up with some of our recent graduates to see what their plans are for the coming year and beyond. Read more about their journeys through LACC and their future plans here.

SUPPORT LACC
LACC’s enrollment for the 2022|2023 season has grown by more than 100 singers from the last year. This tremendous growth allows LACC to further our mission of providing the highest quality choral education to students of all backgrounds. To serve our student body, LACC relies on private philanthropy and institutional giving to support our programming. We hope that this season you will include LACC in your giving plans. Please consider making a fully tax-deductible donation online or contact Director of Development, Lee Taylor, to explore giving opportunities.
