In which choirs did you perform?

FES, FECS, Apprentice Choir, Intermediate Choir, Concert Choir, Young Men’s Ensemble, Chorale

What are your college or other plans for the future?

I have been accepted to Tulane University, intending to Major in Architecture, with a minor in Immersive Spaces/Game Design. My enrollment commences in 2023; I am taking a gap year to further my other extracurricular interests, including choir, sailing, and community involvement. In the future, I anticipate continuing singing with the Tulane Glee Club and enjoying/being a part of other communal singing experiences.

Do you have a favorite LACC Tour or Tour memory?

I absolutely loved the collaboration between Dr. K, Eric Lifland, and Deb Stark during my four years in YME. Early on, Diana Landis, and later, Mandy Brigham, directed my choir in the younger years with absolute patience, professionalism, and love, supporting my love of singing. During FECS, I also remember Lizzie Quishenberry as a passionate and loving person who encouraged me to grow as a human being as I developed my singing prowess. More recently, in March of 2017, YME performed at the Hollywood Bowl alongside John Williams and Steven Spielberg’s work, which was great fun, given my family’s connections to Hollywood. In terms of a favorite memory, YME’s 2019 Eastern Europe Tour, in which we visited Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Krakow, Poland, presented a fabulously unusual opportunity for us to understand and connect with the lives of Holocaust survivors as well as others throughout the region. Without LACC, I would not have been able to understand and enjoy such a meaningful firsthand experience.

Did you have any other favorite activities?

The LACC annual picnics are an absolute delight! I am grateful we are able to resume in-person, fun, and casual celebrations since COVID. In most recent years, seeing all of my friends and mentors weekly, and especially in-person each Sunday as a member of YME, as well as being able to close out each wonderful year as I have experienced each and every one of the choirs of this amazing organization. LACC has shaped my life in ways I could not have imagined. I have particularly enjoyed performing at different venues, such as Sounds About Town at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in 2019. I am also particularly keen on the fact that LACC won a Grammy award and that I was able to advance the already great achievements during my time as a multi-level chorister at LACC makes me extremely proud. I look forward to sharing my musical abilities not only within Tulane University, but also globally.
