Dr. Leslie Dennis Rigney, vocal coach, holds a Ph.D. in Music from UCLA, an M.M. from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), and a B.A. in French Literature from UCLA. With 25 years of teaching experience, she works with singers of all ages and levels across classical, musical theater, and contemporary styles. Eight years ago, she expanded her studio to include beginning and intermediate piano instruction, encouraging her voice students to develop their musicianship through instrumental study. In 五月 2026, her student Bryce Rigney won first place in the Commercial Voice Division of the Vo-Cal Competition.
Dr. Rigney performed with the LA Opera chorus for 12 years, appearing in more than 30 productions and singing solo roles in Le Nozze di Figaro, Suor Angelica, and Tannhäuser. A New York Metropolitan Opera Regional Finalist, she has performed leading roles with numerous California opera companies and orchestras, including Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Adina in The Elixir of Love, and Violetta in La Traviata, a role she performed twice with Repertory Opera Company.
She performs regularly at Ventura Center for Spiritual Living and has appeared extensively as a concert soloist and operatic performer throughout Southern California. Her recording credits include the role of Job’s Wife on the 2009 world-premiere recording of Job’s Truth by Darius Holbert and a contribution to Quinn’s new age album The Solemn Vow.
